There are many things to see and do at Mt Ive Station. With buildings full of history, scenic sights and 4x4 tracks, there will be lots to keep you busy during your stay.
Historic Landmarks, buildings, fences and equipment remain on the station and can be spotted as you drive some of the interesting private station tracks or walk around the outbuildings of the homestead. The Flight Path offers a great trip around the station with secluded rest areas and lookouts and takes in some of the great flora and fauna that exists here.
The Embankment, Cath's Castles and Peter's Pillars are some of the great sights for you to see. Showing off some of the great examples of exposed rhyolite found in the Gawler Ranges and the hard work put in by the men of old to collect a valuable supply of water.
Private access to the edge of the stunning Lake Gairdner is available called by some as the jewel in the crown of South Australia's scenic sights.
Experience life at Mt Ive Station by talking to people who live and work on the station. Ask them about coming to see or joining in with goings-on during the day. This may include mustering sheep, checking water points, stock and fences and fixing machinery. They are always willing to have a chat about what's happening around the station. The main busy times at Mt Ive are during shearing (Feb/March) and crutching (October), please ask when you book what we are up to on the station.
